Clearwater Dells Area Activities
If you're looking for other things to do while camping, Clearwater Dells is your ideal base of operation.
There's plenty to do in the area. There's something to do for everyone. Experience all that the Black River Falls area has to offer close by. It's an amazing area that's full of surprises. All you have to do is get out and explore. There's even showers at the area state parks when you get dirty from a full day's activities!

Kayaking:

Fishing/Boating/Swimming:

Close lakes include Lake Arbutus (beaches, boating, fishing & showers on site), Trow Lake (fishing, boating) and Lake Wazee (beaches, boating, fishing & diving). A complete list of lakes in Jackson County can be found here: Jackson County Lakes

The Black River features great musky, walleye and small mouth fishing with many close-by access points.

Oxbow Pond is a unique area to hike, picnic and trout fish.

Area Parks:

Area parks offer exploration opportunities to see nature at its best and get some great exercise hiking! There are an abundance of local parks, but there are two shining stars that worthy of your time:

Black River State Forest is close by and covers almost 69,000 acres! It features amazing rock formations and has 12 miles of the Black River flowing through it. It offers fishing, recreations trails (hiking & motorized), canoe/kayak opportunities and picnic areas. And if you are lucky, you may see elk which were reintroduced in 2015 and 2016 after a 125+ year absence. Click on the link for full information.

Castle Mound Pine Forest is south of Black River Falls and offers great hiking trails, 400 million year old sandstone formations and buttes rising 180 feet above the surrounding plain with a view at the top worth hiking up to! Click on the link for full information.

Black River Falls is a short 15 minute drive away.
